November 6, 2008
Dear MCS Family:
The 2008-09 school year is well
under way, and we are having a great year. It is
obvious that the Lord has been working in the lives of
our students and staff, and we are reaping His
blessings. While MCS is not a perfect school, it is
obvious that God’s presence is in the school. Please
pray with us for continued spiritual growth.
Our enrollment this year stands at
114, even though we lost 14 seniors last year. We have
several new students, including some home-schooled
students who are just taking a class or two. We are
glad to have every one of our new and returning
students, as each individual adds a different dimension
to our school family.
|
For your information, we attempt to
keep our students safe while at school each day. In
addition to fire, tornado, and safety drills, we keep a
binder with the names and pictures of all predators and
offenders within an 8-10 mile radius of the school. If
you would like to see this compilation, you may stop in
at the school and look through the book for any who
might live in your area. Or, you can go to
http://www.familywatchdog.us/ and register
personally. They will notify you of any offenders who
move in or out of your area.
With the holidays rapidly
approaching, Pastor Thayer, the faculty, staff, and I
would like to send our warmest wishes to you. We trust
that the Lord would greatly bless you and your family.
Also, we thank you again for your confidence in us to
train your children academically and, more importantly,
spiritually. We do not take this responsibility
lightly. Pray for us as we minister to your children.
In Christ,
Carol Crowley

Immunizations

The beginning of a new school year
brings a new round of vaccinations for our students. The
following are the general guidelines for what is required and
recommended.
- Kindergarten And Grade 2
Students: State law requires the second MMR, Varivax
(for Chicken Pox), and Hepatitis B series, in addition to
DTAP and Polio Boosters.
- Grades 3 - 12: These
students should have previously received their second MMR
and Hepatitis B Series. The Chicken Pox vaccine is
recommended if your child has not had the disease.
- Grade 7: It is recommended
that these students receive booster doses of Tetanus /
Diphtheria vaccine, if it has been more than five (5) years
since the last one, a Varivax (Chicken Pox) immunization if
your child has not had the disease, and a series of three
(3) Hepatitis B injections, given over a six month period.
- Grades 9 - 12: It is
recommended that these students receive their Meningitis
vaccine.
For more information, you
can contact the Health Department at (330) 830-1713
2008 / 2009 Cell Phone Policy:

of the abuse of our previous cell phone policy at Massillon
