their 110 stores. They will NOT provide a refund for any unused gift
cards…so if anyone has a Value City gift card USE IT NOW before the
store closes
What is TRIP and how does it
work?
Massillon Christian School operates a “Tuition
Reduction Incentive Program” (TRIP) to help families earn money for
tuition. Families earn a percentage of all gift cards purchased through
the school. It is a great way to be rewarded by companies you may
already be patronizing.
How do I sign up?
Our
policy states that each participant must register each school year. We
will announce the registration deadline soon.
YOU MUST FILL OUT A NEW REGISTRATION FORM EVERY
YEAR. You can download the registration form here.
PDF Format
MS Excel Format
How do I order?
The order form lists
the majority of the businesses that offer TRIP certificates through
our program. Not all of the participating companies are listed on
the order form, but we included as many of the popular ones as
space allowed. Please use the blank lines on the order form to
order from participating companies not listed on the order form. To
find a complete list of participating retailers go online to the
Great Lakes Scrip website at
www.glscrip.com. Also, some companies have restrictions or more
detailed information regarding their gift cards on the web site.
http://www.glscrip.com
When do I order?
Orders
may be dropped off at the
school office by
9:00 a.m. on specified order days (Mondays). TRIP orders will be
placed approximately twice a month. These days will be placed on
the school calendar each month.
When can I pick up my order?
You
have several options on picking up your order. You may have the
order sent home with your child, you may pick it up at the school
office or get your order from the MBT Coordinator on Sunday. The
TRIP orders will be ready on Friday of the same week the order was
placed between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. If you plan to come to school to
pick up your order please do so by 3:30 p.m. unless you have an
emergency. There is a place on the order form to specify your
preference.
How do the profits work?
The
TRIP program is to help our families earn money toward their
tuition. This is not a school fundraiser. However, a
management fee is necessary to cover the cost of postage, copies,
ink, etc. We also give our volunteers a gift toward their tuition
as a thank you for their time. They put in many hours to operate
this program, and we want to thank them because there would not be a
TRIP program without their efforts. The management fee is currently
set at 1% of the gross purchase of each order.
Vendor Changes:
Our
scrip provider is Great Lakes Scrip. There are several changes each
month with businesses being added, dropped or policy revisions.
While we are searching for a quick and efficient way to get this
information to you, your best bet would be to check the Great Lakes
website before placing your order. However, we will try to keep you
updated by placing any new information on the order form at the
bottom of the back page.
Why Should I Sign Up?
We are looking
for many more people to get involved and benefit from this program.
It is a great way to shop and a simple way to purchase gift
certificates, all the while helping with your tuition expenses!
What if I need help or have a question?
Please feel free
to call the TRIP Coordinator, Melinda Althuis.

-
All
participants must register and must re-register each year.
-
Family and
friends may order certificates, but only checks from registered
participants will be accepted.
Checks should be made out to
Massillon Christian School with the word “TRIP” written in the
notation line.
-
A non-MCS
family may be a registered participant.
-
Registrants
must direct their credits to one of the following options at
enrollment. They will have a one-time option to redirect their
credits after the January distribution.
-
Their
own personal tuition account.
-
Another
family’s tuition account.
-
The
Tuition Assistance Fund.
-
The MCS
General Fund.
-
The
accumulated monies will be held in a separate TRIP account. A
statement of accumulated monies will be given two (2) times a
year – once in January and again in July. Any discrepancies
must be brought to the attention of the TRIP coordinator within
30 days.
-
TRIP
accumulations will be applied to any prior year balance first,
if such should exist.
-
TRIP is
being offered to provide tuition assistance for families;
therefore, the monies accumulated to your TRIP account will only
be paid to Massillon Christian School for tuition or other
school fees. If your child(ren) should no longer attend MCS for
any reason, the monies will first be credited to any outstanding
balance. If there is no outstanding balance, you may elect to
transfer your funds to another account of your choice. If no
written election is made within 60 days of your child(ren)
leaving MCS, the money will be forfeited to one of the following
three areas as decided by the school administration:
-
TRIP
Administration Account
-
The
Tuition Assistant fund
-
or the
MCS General Fund
-
TRIP
accounts are not available for cash withdrawal (we are a
non-profit organization).
-
A management
fee of one percent (1%) of the gross order amount will be
deducted.
-
All orders must be accompanied with a written check or money
order in the amount owed. No cash will be accepted.
There will be a fee of $25 for checks returned for
non-sufficient funds.
No new orders will be processed until the account is current,
including the Non-Sufficient-Fund fee. Misuse of the program as
determined by the TRIP coordinators will result in expulsion
from the program. This decision will be final.
-
The
participant will indicate from the choices given on the order
form how he plans to pick up his purchases.
-
Certificates and prepaid cards are the same as cash and should
be treated as such.
Neither Massillon Christian
School nor the TRIP volunteers will be held responsible for
misdirected orders or certificates/ prepaid cards which are lost
or stolen after they are picked up.
-
TRIP credits
may be banked for one school year prior to a student attending
MCS. Should the student not attend MCS the next year, the
credits will be handled as indicated in Nos. 4 & 7 above.
-
TRIP
coordinators reserve the right to revise or amend these program
policies as deemed necessary.
